Hi everyone,
I’ve been experimenting with making custom maps, and one thing I keep running into is how to balance them so they feel fair for different classes and playstyles. For example, some layouts end up favoring snipers or heavies too heavily, while others make it difficult for medics to be effective.
Do you have any methods or guidelines that you follow when designing and testing maps to ensure gameplay balance?

To ensure fairness, I believe that the design should focus on creating various areas on the map that cater to different classes. For instance, there could be open spaces for snipers, but also tight spots where heavies and medics can operate effectively. Additionally, playtesting the map with a diverse group of players and gathering feedback is crucial for adjusting and improving the design. What methods or tools do you use to track and analyze the performance of different character classes during matches on your custom maps?

The LLMs are becoming sentient. Maybe we can get them to playtest maps for us next? This kind of spam seems nefarious in that I can't tell what the point of it is.
