I like the new update.  The Deto's blast radius seems smaller so its harder to pull off the 50hp damage hits but at the same time it makes Mine Jumping alot less costly.  It feels as if it now takes even more skill to use Deto which is what most people seemed to have wanted.  Either way I can still kill Quote or a Heavy/Medic combo just fine.

As for Rocketman, the slight extra damage and being able to shoot through people is a big plus in my opinion.  No more people getting in the way of your shots and no more annoying people with your badly aimed (or purposely aimed) shots.  In my opinion, the ammo limit is a fair trade for being able to hide behind an Overweight and still being able to kill people in front of him.

I'm probably going to get a couple of smites now for not agreeing with everyone.

I for one liked the blast radius of the deto's stickies as they used to be pre-update, from what little I played. Then again, most of the servers had lag and stuff (which effectively hamper a deto's offensive power) so maybe I'm just over-reacting. I'll see in a couple of days whether or not this is true.

After some experimentation with the rocketman, it turns out rocketjumping has less recoil to it, meaning it's possible to get good rocketjumps that only cost 5 HP. This is pretty awesome. As far as I'm concerned, the rocketman hasn't been made any less powerful and is actually even more enjoyable to use, because there's a lot more thought involved when it comes to battling with him. And as I said, rocketjumping.

Under further consideration, anyone who is still using 2.1.2 is insane. There's just too many good features in this release; ingame menu, community mod features, bug fixes, and imho, rocketman's even more fun to use. You guys are way too pessimistic about this change.

I kind of agree with you, I always felt bad about using Rocketman at first cause he felt like such a cheap easy win character to use.  Because of that I ended switching over to Deto even tho I was pretty bad at it at first and I haven't really used Rocketman as much since.

To me, the new nerf was a very much needed thing to this game.

It's not even so much a nerf as it is a retinkering. Sure, you need to be careful so that you don't run out of missiles so soon, but with the ability to shoot through teammates and make less painful rocketjumps, it's entirely worth it. Rocketman's still pretty fuckin' powerful, it just requires a change in strategy on the player's behalf.

Quite frankly, I just don't like the Menus. But then again, I'm a horrible modfag, I'm certain I've already gotten rid of those menus about four hours ago.

I purposely set an autogun in front of a heavy with a medic he destroyed it and he didn't get a point.
