In my first day of beta testing I already found a bug, so Meower is kinda right.

Of course having more people helps with finding bugs, but when it comes to balance changes and stuff like that, it's basically herding cats until someone(aka rebel) takes charge of the situation.

The balance part is all matter of opinions. If a beta tester would be considered of biased ones, or just not being very user friendly, he can always be purged out of the list.

That aside, more people also mean more testers available for host's wacky schedules.
