Orpheon said something about porting the chat from the beta version of gg2 to a plugin, so i'm guessing that this plugin is going to die soon.
The serverhost can always use my kickextender plugin to mute them

Yeah, but the most common form of spam I see is:

'Karem' changed their name to 'xhsilolrhsid-jh1'.
'xhsilolrhsid-jh1' changed their name to 'hridneikdsns'.
'hridneikdsns' changed their name to 'Karem'.

Then in 10 seconds, there will be 10 "X changed name to Y" messages.
Second #1: 'Karem' changed their name to 'xhsilolrhsid-jh1'.
Second #2: 'xhsilolrhsid-jh1' changed their name to 'hridneikdsns'.
Second #3: 'hridneikdsns' changed their name to 'Karem'.

I'd like to request adding ignore/mute functionality and anti-spam measures, if you please.

Why can't it detect if the client has the plugin installed already? Would save soooooooooo much time and bandwith.

what installed already? The plugin only loads when it was unloaded. Also the plugin is 3.7kB, playing gg2 for 5 seconds probably uses more bandwidth 

And the reason i won't add mute and extra features:

I remember one of the most common complaints about the game was the lack of chat. Considering that chat in gg2 is like 90percent done, you should focus on finishing that and release it asap.

During the next week, if I'm lucky and I find the time, I'll finish and release porting the beta chat to a plugin and host it (and get people to host it).
Hopefully that will make people actually test it (which releasing betas doesn't achieve), and we can release it soon.

If you're moaning about the prompt, you can disable it in the settings.
If you're moaning about the restart prompt, you will be able to disable it in the settings in the next release.
If you're moaning about it downloading the same plugin again, you want caching, which I'm working on.
