The end of an era
« on: May 13, 2013, 05:20:39 pm »

Goodbye, HostEurope. Our long marriage contract with you is ending. For three years and one month you have carried the massive burden of the Gang Garrison 2 Forums, with its hundreds of thousands of posts and, er, ones of dozens of daily active users. You've provided us with infamous reliability. Thanks.

[23:08] <Medo42> Here we are. I'm hovering my mouse over the button that will quit our contract with Host Europe
[23:08] <Medo42> (in one month, but still)
[23:08] <Medo42> The end of an era (sniff)
[23:10] <Medo42> Three years, one month.
[23:12] <Medo42> By the powers bestowed upon me by, er, virtue of renting the server in the first place
[23:12] <Medo42> I cancel thee, contract.

did you know that spinning stars work like this???

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. execute_strings on fire off the shoulder of Overmars. I watched object-beams glitter in the dark near the room_goto_fix. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears...in...rain. Time to die.

Just to clarify for non-regulars, this does not affect the site, forums or development in any way.
We have already moved entirely to the new server rented from Hetzner, which has some technical advantages over our old one.

For future reference, you probably shouldn't use that title. I was worried for a second...
